On November 8, 2024, police attempted to serve a second warrant of arrest to actor Ken Chan concerning a P14 million estafa case linked to a fraudulent investment deal.
The efforts were unsuccessful as Chan was not found at his residence.
Aquino Law office said : “Trinay lang natin i-serve ang warrant. Actually, pangalawang beses na ngayon. Nagbabakasakali lang tayo. Di siya [Ken] nakita, e. Wala siya”.
The Quezon City Prosecution Office charged him and seven co-investors after a businessman accused them of misrepresentation and failing to fulfill their investment promises made in 2022.
“According to the complainant, hiningan [siya] ng investment ni Ken. Hindi naman sila authorized to solicit investment from the public. Using misrepresentation, fraudulent schemes, nakakuha sila ng pera sa complainant,” Atty. Estrada said.
Although the complaint was filed in 2023, it has only recently progressed to court. Despite his legal troubles, Chan posted on social media, indicating he might be abroad.
